一般的にやきものは土で形成し窯で焼成して制作しますが、
安永さんの作品は釉薬や、ガラスを使い形を形成し、砂や山土の中に埋めて焼成して作られます。
そうすることにより、ガラス状で光をうっすら透す作品や、纏ったものを剥がし器の骨格だけを残したかのような作品。
出土品のような風化した雰囲気の作品が生まれます。
安永さんと出会って8年。今でも忘れませんがこの制作技法に取り組み始めた時の作品は手のひらに収まるほど小さなものでした。
何年もの試行錯誤の結果、今では一人で持つのは大変なほどの大きく魅力的な作品を作る事も可能になり、更なる表現の可能性が広がり様々なギャラリーから注目が集まっています。
作家として成熟してきた今、2018年の制作作品を中心に26点の作品を発表致します。今後の作家活動の転機となる、
また皆様の記憶に残る、そんな展示会になる事を願っています。

In general, pottery is made of molded clay that is fired in a kiln. However, Masaomi Yasunaga uses his own method, which combines glaze and glass molded in sand or mountain soil.
His works can have the weathered look of an artifact from times past, the simplicity of something stripped down to its core, or incorporate glass with flickers of light passing through.
I met him eight years ago and am amazed to see his progress since then. He started with small pieces that could fit in the palm of my hand and now makes pieces almost too big to carry. His hard work and creativity have earned him a great deal of recent attention from a variety of galleries.
As he has matured as a creator, we are proud to exhibit 26 of his more recent works, primarily from 2018. We hope this exhibition brings him great success and wish fond memories for all who attend.
